The incredible Toyota Yaris is a vehicle that tends to "Break the Mold. Not the Bank."1 It is, after all, the tagline for the tagline for the vehicle the minimalist vehicle that sacrifices nothing in the way of safety. The Yaris' unique, peppy look has attracted a base of buyers that is as loyal as could be asked for.
And, now in the 2012 model-year, Toyota is planning to reward those loyal Prius drivers with a little more comfort in the form of new standard features. Just how many standard features? How does $1,000 worth sound? It sounds pretty good to us here at Mark Toyota, which is why we thought we'd give you the inside scoop on Toyota's subcompact masterpiece!
In its present form, the base 2011 Toyota Yaris features a 1/5-liter, 4-cylinder engine with a five-speed manual transmission. It also includes multi-reflector halogen headlamps, remote good and fuel-filter door releases, the Toyota Start Safety System, Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH), side-impact door beams, a tire pressure monitoring system, and high-tensile-strength steel body panels. Great for safety, but there is some room for convenience, right?
Toyota has yet to release an exact list of what is to be expected in the new Yaris, but we can take an educated guess based on the 2011 model's Convenience Package. Based on that pricing, we could see a 60/40 split-folding back seat, a CD player, MP3 compatibility, XM stereo compatibility, and 15-inch steel wheels with full covers. But, don't hold us to that... who knows what else Toyota might include?
