When we here at Mark Toyota, serving the greater Plover area, say that the new Toyota lineup is filled with models that are durable, dependable, and long lasting, we mean it. And as proof of this concept, we present you with a story of a young couple from Washington State's Toyota 4Runner.
While camping, a 100-foot-tall hickory tree fell onto the Toyota mid-size SUV during a storm with enough force to crush the roof. All it took was one glance at the wrecked vehicle to see that it was clearly in no shape to be driven. That said, the young couple called for emergency services to come cut their 4Runner out of the tree and give them a lift to safety.
Unfortunately, all available emergency and park services in the area were unavailable to help. Desperately needing to flee the increasingly dangerous storm, the young couple took drastic action and cut their Toyota 4Runner out of the tree themselves with hopes that it would start up. After cutting a section of the log that was embedded in the truck free from the rest of the tree, the young couple was amazed to find that their 4Runner actually started and was drivable.
Though less than ideal with a log wedged in the roof, the couple was able to drive their crushed 4Runner to safety. Is it any wonder they're currently considering buying another? We think not. Of course, a story as amazing as this got us to wondering if there are any other incredible feats of Toyota durability out there. Feel free to leave us a comment with any stories you've heard!
