You might wonder what else your EV or hybrid vehicle can be used for.  Well, Toyota had similar thoughts and came up with a new concept: the V2H Power Sharing System.  This vehicle-to-home system could be used as a power source for your home when there is no electricity.

This new system will make energy transferal possible, not only from hybrids and EVs to homes, but also amongst vehicles.  While more in-depth testing is expected to begin later this year, Toyota is already proving just how big of an impact the technology can have in the event of a natural disaster.  Specifically, a Toyota Prius PHV with a full charge and tank of gas is capable of providing four-days-worth of power to a typical Japanese household.

Toyota has other projects in the works, since they do not want to limit the new V2H system  to home energy transfer only.  What will they think of next?  Well, the ingenious automaker has invented a way for energy to be transferred from PHVs to home devices.
