If you want to go green, there's no better option right now than the Toyota Prius or one of its sibling models (Prius v, Prius c, etc.). But what if you're a speed demon who wants to go green? Toyota may soon have a green solution for you too.
To be more precise, the renowned Japanese automaker is considering bringing back its Supra sports car with an all-electric platform. Produced from 1978 through 2002, the gasoline-powered version of the Toyota Supra is still one of the most highly sought after used Toyota models today.
Of course, if Toyota plans to electrify the Supra, it will want to make sure it does so the right way. In other words, it would be a smart move for Toyota to recruit some help that knows a thing or two about electric performance.
Coincidentally, that's what Toyota has already done, but for a different vehicle. Toyota recently finished development of an all-electric version of the RAV4, and its partner in the project was none other than the electric masterminds at Tesla Motors. If that name sounds familiar at all, it's because its engineers are the ones behind the Model S electric sedan, which was recently named the 2013 Motor Trend "Car of the Year."
It's worth noting right now that Toyota has not confirmed Tesla will be working on the Electric Supra with Toyota; it merely makes perfect sense that it would happen. Essentially, the pieces are in place, and now we just need to wait for it to happen.
That's something Mark Toyota will be keeping an eye on moving forward. Be sure to stay tuned to our blog via your RSS reader. Or, if there's a more immediately available new Toyota model you're interested in, simply contact us today to arrange a test drive at 1765 Park Avenue, Plover, WI in Plover.
