Keeping your eyes on the road can be a constant struggle with younger, inexperienced drivers because of the distractions of modern technology; Bluetooth integration and other features offered in all of our new Toyota models help to stem the problems but accidents still happen. This is why the Japanese automaker has partnered up with Teen Vogue to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving.
The campaign is called "Arrive in Style" and will offer ads and promos through February 2014. Using print, digital and social media, the campaign will offer tips and discussions from Toyota on how to be a better driver and developing safer driving habits. The magazine also hopes to get mothers in on the issue as well, making a mutual agreement with their children to abstain from texting and other technological interruptions while behind the wheel.
The statistics that launched interest in this safety campaign are alarming. In a study of driving habits among teenage girls, sixty-two percent admitted to using a cell phone while driving, 30 percent said they would read emails or texts while driving, and nineteen percent said they would even have extended text message conversations. Visit teenvogue.com/arriveinstyle for all the details on this movements and to see the Mutual Driving Agreement daughters and mothers can sign to promise each other distraction-free driving.
