Before there was Yelp, before there was Angie's List, and before there was Rotten Tomatoes, if anyone ever needed a second option on a future purchase, there was the almighty Consumer Reports to guide us. And even with the advent of the internet, we here at Mark Toyota still swear by them. Be it televisions, lawnmowers, or new and used cars, reputation goes a long way with these kinds of things, and we don't trust the opinion of just anyone when money's on the line.
With that being said, Consumer Reports has just released their findings for their 2013 Car Brand Perception Survey, and while we were admittedly partial to begin with, we're just that much prouder to be selling Toyotas for a living.
Coming in with a final tally of 133 points across seven different categories (performance, value, safety, quality, technology/innovation, environmental friendliness, and design/style), the Japanese automaker was once again ranked #1 in the annual car-brand perception poll. As to how Consumer Reports came to this conclusion, they went and surveyed 1,764 car-owning adult consumers from across the country to see which automakers are performing well, and which ones aren't. Needless to say, Toyota's doing alright.
And in terms of how the masses ranked them:
- Quality: First Place (21 points)
- Safety: Fourth Place (17 points)
- Value: First Place (24 points)
- Technology/Innovation: First Place (20 points)
- Environmentally Friendly/Green: First Place (42 points)
Now, we're not in the business of bragging over here, but for all the great things we've always had to say about our Toyota models, it sure is nice to have an expert opinion to back up your personal opinion every now and again. And if any of you future shoppers out there are still unconvinced, then come see us for a test drive down here at 1765 Park Ave. in Plover, WI 54467. You just might become a believer.
