There are many wonderful things in life. Being behind the wheel of a new Toyota, and living in a pineapple under the sea are among them. What if you could combine them? Wouldn't that be great? Well, Toyota has, with the SpongeBob 2014 Toyota Highlander.
That's right, the popular SUV has been decked out with a SpongeBob SquarePants theme both inside and out. It's part of Toyota's partnership with Nickelodeon, which was announced during the New York Auto Show earlier in 2013. The specialized ride made its big debut as a one-off concept in San Diego during a baseball game featuring the Padres and Giants, and will go on a "Happy Driving" tour across the United States in various locations.
The outside sports some big images of SpongeBob himself, but it's when you climb inside where the fun begins. The roof makes you feel like you're underwater with a blue hue and painted in ripples for a water-like effect. The seats are bright yellow, just like SpongeBob, and feature the faces of the main characters, including his good buddy Patrick, and Squidward Tentacles.
