The formula DRIFT season finale known as Final Fight is set to be held this weekend, October 9 - 10 at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California. Drifting is a high-skill motorsport with an emphasis on car control. Drivers operate high-powered vehicles, sliding sideways along a closed course. They compete in knockout heats, and are judged on speed and style.
Heading into the finale, Scion Racing boasts two drivers in the top two spots. tC driver Fredric Aasbo leads the field in first place, with FR-S driver Ken Gushi following right behind in second place. While the drivers will be competing for individual top honors, Scion Racing has already captured the Manufacturer's Cup team title, thanks to a substantial points lead.
In a recent interview, Aasbo stated "We feel great heading into the finals and are hungry to close out the season on top. Making adjustments to the tC after last season has paid off for us, and I’m excited to get out there and battle for the title.”
