Snow is coming to the Plover, Wisconsin area which may impact holiday travelers, says the National Weather Service as of November 21st. If you haven't scheduled a service appointment with Mark Toyota to have your winter tires mounted and balanced, now is the time!
Before you come in to have your winter tires put on, however, it's a good idea to first make sure those tires are still safe for another season.
Most snow tires, like the Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 pictured above, feature a special tread-wear indicator called a "snow platform." To the right, the snow platform shows these tires are still providing optimal winter performance. To the left, the tread around the snow platform has worn down, connecting two adjacent tread blocks.
When your tread-wear indicators look like the picture on the left, it's time to replace them if you want to maintain the best-possible traction over ice and snow. Get new tires for your Toyota at our Tire Center, and stay safe and secure on the road this holiday season.
